ESW Wednesday

Found this day problematic initially, which was down to over detailed patterning in the clay meaning it would not peal away from the hardened plaster. I had to dig in with utensils and rinse under tap to get most of the clay out.

I resolved to continue creating these crevices, making tyre-like tread impressions into the clay, producing the negative cast and attempting to pick off the clay again. This was an investigation into friction, traction, differing textures and repetition.

Crevice was the key word in my experimentation, continuing on from the previous day working in clay. Using remnants of scrim and plaster I fashioned a soft wet pouch, which would then form a hardened cavern.

Nothing resolved was produced and I could have been more adventurous with the idea of clay as inaccessible within the plaster.
